A foundational understanding at Bethel Christian School is that Christ is the Center of all subjects. We are committed to the expression of worship unto God at BCS. All classes have a daily devotion time where our students take the time to adore God, reflect on His goodness, truth, listen to His Holy Spirit, as well as, Bible classes at all grade levels. There are two weekly Chapel services one for the 5th to 8th grades and the other for kindergarten to 4th grade. Both services have student worship teams and allow for freedom of worship and ministry. Our junior high starts off the year with a retreat at JH Ranch where students are challenged physically and encouraged to experience God through relationship with Holy Spirit and each other. All grades regularly minister to visitors that come to their classrooms. Each spring our 7th grade does an outreach within our community where students visit places of influence and pray and prophesy for those who serve in our community. It is always a great experience. A highlight for our 8th grade is an end of the year outreach to La Paz, Mexico where our students serve God and put into practice what they’ve learned while at BCS in a foreign country.

Don Mayer Shares on Importance of Believing In Our Kids
Athletics at Bethel Christian School are a great opportunity for students to be challenged physically, emotionally and spiritually. We have great coaches who inspire our students to play their best both as an individual and as a team while learning through the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat all with kindness and grace. BCS competes with other medium size Redding public and private schools in the following sports: volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball and baseball.
All students must pay a $75 fee for each team sport they participate in prior to the beginning of the season.

Students at BCS challenge their minds and celebrate the sciences through the annual Science Fair in the spring. Students are asked to answer the perplexities of the universe like “Does it matter how much air is in a ball to make it bounce?”, “ What laundry soap works the best?”, “ Can I build a solar powered oven?” Students are then asked to make an educated guess about their subject and then create a plan to prove or disprove their hypothesis. The Science Fair is a time of discovery, though sometimes frustrating it always becomes rewarding by inspiring our students to think outside the box.
